Washing dishes, cleaning the bathroom, changing my cats' litter box, doing the laundry, vacuuming, ironing, mopping and dusting are all household chores I have to handle but despise at the same time. The worst on the list has got to be washing and cleaning the bathroom!
I don't have a huge fancy bathroom suite like the ones on display at www.betterbathrooms.com but no matter the size, it is still very much a hassle to clean up any bathroom. Our main bathroom happens to be fairly small and it doesn't have a bathtub but it still gets dirty and used just like any other bathroom.
Scrubbing the toilet, bathroom floor and wiping the mirror, walls and wooden wall shelves in our bathroom are not only tiring but unpleasant too. It's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it. And that somebody is usually me.
B helps around the house of course and I am always grateful when he takes it upon himself to clean the bathroom without being asked. But when it is my turn to clean the bathroom, I usually stall for time. I don't mind the easier tasks like washing the sink and wiping the mirror and walls but it is the toilet and floor scrubbing that I hate the most.
My only consolation when bending over to scrub hard-to-reach spots of my bathroom facilities and furniture is the exercise I get from doing this particular house chore. I sweat buckets after scrubbing the toilet and that makes me feel good, knowing I worked up a good sweat.
If you do know any housewife or lady of the house who really enjoys washing the bathroom without any complaints whatsoever, please point her out to me. I would really like to know and meet this person because that would be something else alright! And the first thing I'd ask her is why the bathroom?
