June Top EC Droppers **

Entrecard is taking action against bounce rate; which basically means we can no longer drop and run when doing our EC rounds. Dropping and running will no longer earn you credit.

Reducing bounce rate is definitely positive and it aspires towards ultimate success for EC and its members but penalizing me for drop and run by not giving credit is a tad too much. Everybody drops and runs, there is no way anyone can spend so much time reading and commenting on every single blog that drops on our site! And what if we're seriously not interested in the given blog topics? Or what if a blog has not been updated for weeks? We gotta force ourselves to comment and interact?

I am keen to see how this new development works out. So far, this is what Entrecard has to say.

"Starting soon, “dropping and running” will no longer give you credit. We are developing a proprietary algorithm to determine whether or not you engaged in the blog you visited in some way. If you did not engage in the blog, you will not get credit. We won’t be disclosing exactly the algorithm we use, so that people can’t game it easily."

On a happier note, EC did keep their cash out promise to me and I am happy to report that I've received 3 payments from EC so far. It took them almost 2 months to make payment but at least they honoured their agreement so that's good!

April Top 10 EC Droppers! *

Hi peeps! It is way past 6am and I just finished dropping EC for WOAFS! I can't believe how diligent I've been with my EC dropping despite all the turmoil going on right now. To date, I still have not been approved by the cashout system and frankly, I'm getting a little annoyed at the long wait. Delay spells inefficiency for me.

Anyway, as you already know, I recently launched my third blog MEOW DIARIES, which is kicking off well at EC too. I am striving to make 900 drops a daily affair but it isn't easy! Sometimes, when my connection is really slow, this dropping feat is plain impossible. And when I am busy with work and have many other priorities besides dropping, I can't make that quota too. But worry not to my advertisers. One thing that I definitely am is hardworking and I won't give up easily. As long as I have the time and convenience to drop, that remains one of my blogging priorities.

And with that, I'd like to thank my Top 10 EC Droppers here at MPG. Thank you for all your drops and visits last month. I hope Mariuca's Perfume Gallery kept you entertained and do come again!

March Top 10 Droppers! *

Let me kick off April by giving a special thank you to my Top 10 Droppers for Mariuca's Perfume Gallery in March. This is my first actual Top EC Dropper post thanking all ten top droppers with linky love and from now on, it will be a monthly affair. I totally get the difficulties and woes we sometimes endure to make sure we drop on that very important blog daily, so you guys deserve a thank you for all your effort and diligence in dropping.

It took one very distressed email from me, tedious template tweaking, bouncing of emails between Entrecard and me plus a whole lot of whining and crying to my blog buddies before I finally received the much awaited Love Letter from EC!

Hey Mariuca,

You're good to go! :) I truly appreciate your patience, concern, and compliance with this. And I really really wish every user were as prompt and sweet as you are. Thank you for being you and Thank you for choosing Entrecard. You are a valued member.

Last week, I received a warning email from EC, which got me really upset! Apparently, certain bloggers (specifically from US) were being redirected to other foreign sites when they land at MPG. I personally have never encountered this issue at MPG, so naturally the warning came as a rude shock! I related my plight to Andy from the Entrecard team, who was extremely supportive from the start. I commend him for his prompt reply, which included the specific URL my blog was being redirected to without my knowledge. Despite endless tries to access the culprit, I could not load the site. So after much discussion with my webmaster LJ, we decided the best solution was to give MPG an entirely new template!

I am much indebted to LadyJava for her assistance. As my Webmaster, she took to her role and immediately started working on my template. The main issue she faced while loading my new template was JS-Kit related, which she handled beautifully! Via her first-class contact with the JS-Kit team, she convinced them to work overtime (on a Sunday too) and give MPG priority attention!

The plan was for LJ to install my new template with the major foundation intact. I would then reinstall my widgets in phases. After each phase, I would report back to EC for them to inspect MPG for any redirection. Taking into account the time difference between Malaysia and US, the whole process took several days. Andy from the Entrecard team was truly amazing and extremely supportive every step of the way. He even issued a special notice to his colleagues; notifying them of my special case and NOT to delete me within the stipulated 72 hours!

The first two phases went through smoothly but I received a red alert from EC when it came to the final phase! Under the advice of my Webmaster, I removed a piece of code for a particular program I'm registered with, the one that seemed the most suspicious. Afraid to keep my hopes up, I endured a restless night; expecting another red alert email from Andy but I was oh so relieved when I got his approval letter the next day! After days of uncertainty, I am thrilled to finally have the deletion warning removed and I'm back to being a Drop Master at EC!

I'm late but it's better late than never, so let me present my Top 10 Mariucans for the month of September! Like I always tell my fellow Mariucans, who are currently racing one another at Wishing On A Falling Star, trying to secure the Top Mariucan position there for October, slow and steady wins the race! :)

Congratulations to LadyJava, who is still holding on to her number 1 spot here. LJ has been my Top Mariucan here for the past 6 months, so this makes it her 7 month of being top commentator here. Thanks a million LJ, and good luck for this month! ;)

When I first saw Emila's RSS Dolly over at Emila's Illustrated Blog, I just knew I had to have one for myself! I loved it so much and thought it was so adorable.
