2013 Resolutions *

With 12 days left in 2012, it is time for me to sit back and reflect on the happenings of this year and start making some changes for the upcoming 2013. I’m not saying that I will complete and fulfill everything on my list but here’s hoping most of them will materialize for the betterment of me, myself, and I.

1. To avoid making new Fake Friends

If you don’t already know, Fake Friends are those who sneak up on you; initially befriending you with their wit charm and grace. So you start opening up to them, confiding your deepest darkest thoughts and emotions, all the while thinking they’re real friends who love you for yourself.

After a while, you notice that implications are being made in a negative way to you as a person. You however, refuse to be confrontational so you give these fake friends the benefit of the doubt; willing yourself to believe that all the negative things you think they’re saying about you is merely a figment of your imagination. Like a fool, you continue to be friends with these fake friends; investing your true emotions, time and effort in this friendship. adus

When you least expect it however, these fake friends decide to speak their mind to the world, making it a point to diss you online instead of coming directly to you and addressing whatever issue they supposedly have with you. You are bewildered at what had transpired and though the initial hurt and disbelief never really fade, you eventually decide to pick yourself up and move on without the negativity of these fake friends.

That’s Resolution number 1.

2. To continue with my Blockbuster Diet (BD)

If you know me well, you would understand and appreciate my quirkiness when it comes to dieting in order to control my yo-yo weight. I put on weight as easy as ABC. Hence the never ending BD but don’t get me wrong people! When I say BD, I am not talking about a major diet where I starve myself silly and end up anorexic or something. I will eat less - that is my only form of diet. Oh and I will increase my house chores at home because that is also my only form of exercise. Smiley

There is definitely no call for concern when I’m on a diet nor is there a need for insignificant ticks in my life to be rude by disrespecting my belief to lose weight as unnecessary nonsense. If I want to polish off a box of donuts while watching my ‘stupid’ TV shows and then BD my guilt away, so be it! Me wanting to lose weight or maintain whatever I have is my own business and certainly not yours. If anyone is unhappy with me and my dieting ways, by all means unfollow me on Twitter. I do not need negativity in my life so ticks be gone and let me diet in peace. Smiley

That’s Resolution number 2.

3. To work harder on my copywriting business by focusing more on work instead of the trivial stuff mentioned above.

4. To make more money to fund yet another awesome trip abroad!

That’s about all I can think of for now. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all my true-blue friends who I know love me for myself and have never once rejected me merely for the so-called differences in our personalities. I love my friends for this very reason and besides our shared similarities; it is also our differences that make us click! Smiley

Happy 2013 everybody and wish me luck on my resolutions! Smiley

MM - Untukmu by Joe Flizzow Ft. Ila Damiaa *

Last night I heard this song on TV and immediately fell in like with it so I thought I’d feature this number for Music Monday. I think it’s a wonderful collaboration between
Joe Flizzow and Ila Damiaa so I hope you’ll like my selection this week too. Smiley

Featuring Joe Flizzow on MM reminds me of the time B and I attended the first Malaysian Idol finale in Genting with a bunch of our good friends way back in 2004. We managed to take photos with some of the contestants and local celebrities during the post party including one with Joe Flizzow. senyumkenyit

Enjoy my walk-down-memory-lane photos and Happy MM! Smiley

Suddenly Feel Like ... *

… posting old pictures of my good times with friends, which I have never taken the time to upload or post about at my blog! Feeling nostalgic, thinking of life’s precious moments. I think this is triggered by my BIL’s recent passing (Al-Fatihah). doa

So tonight I am remembering all the wonderful people in my life and feeling grateful for the love that surrounds. Here’s to good friends. I miss....

Remembrance *

Last week, B bumped into my ex-BFF. It has been years since I spoke to her but it really is okay with me.

The thing is, I can give you a second chance after you’ve wronged me and our friendship but for me to continue being in a farce of a friendship is just too difficult. Once my heart is closed to you and your friendship, I am stranded and it is hard for me to turn back time. I can’t lie to myself and pretend it’s all good when my heart is broken. And I can’t pretend to be your friend when that loving feeling has gone away.

Do I miss her? Yes, sometimes. But too much time has passed for me to truly feel bad or upset over this whole mess. I have moved on and though I will always remember the friendship that was once, it is just too late for me to go back to the way things used to be. Smiley

I hope you are doing good “friend”. Take care.

Scent-sational Perfume Party! *

And the winner of the Best Perfumer Award is ... Mariuca of Mariuca's Perfume Gallery!!
Smiley

How I wish that's true but this is all a figment of my imagination! Can you picture the perfume lover and collector in me coming out with her own signature perfume? I'd definitely want a lime green bottle and a pink one as well for my scents. Just thinking about this gets me excited! Smiley

For now, I am just happy to have been invited by the good people of AVON to attend their prestigious Hervé Léger
Perfume launch at J.W. Marriott Hotel last week. It was the first official blog related event I attended by invitation. I doubt I'll simply attend just any event but since this was a scent-sational affair, I made sure to make an appearance with three other blogger friends Emila, LJ and Marvic.

Emila, Marvic, Me

My perfume review is already out and I did not post many pictures of the launch in that post so feast your eyes here instead. Before the event started, we went around the hall taking pictures of the decor and displays inside.

The four of us ended up sitting right here at the VIP seats, which gave us a great front-row view of the entire launch.

Marvic and Me

One of the great features of the new iPhone 4 is that it has 2 cameras. There's one on the front which focuses on you and the other is on the back, which focuses on the view behind. See how easy it was for me to take this picture of Marvic and me using my iPhone 4? Look into the camera; make sure we look okay on the screen, smile and snap! Love it! Smiley

After the briefs and informative talks were heard, it was time for the super slim, super tall models to make their appearance. It was difficult not to gawk especially when they're all so gorgeous, towering above everyone else inside the room! Smiley

Model Madness!

The highlight of the event was model actress Fazura making her celebrity appearance, clad in the iconic bandage dress and holding a bottle of Hervé Léger Femme. After she finished her perfume prance around the room, there was a question-answer session, which allowed the actress her say and thoughts on the new scent.

Of course I was happy to meet up with BFF LJ again, who celebrated her birthday yesterday by the way. We took plenty of pictures, enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at J.W. Marriott and giggled throughout the event!

LJ and Me

Thanks so much to AVON for a scent-sational day and for the delightful goodies, I had a blast!
